The A-Frame at Ocean Isle Beach!
When I think about a dream renovation project, this one always comes to mind! The A Frame OIB!
This gem is located in Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina! Once of the best kept secrets in the south :) I grew up vacationing in Ocean Isle with my family! Little did I know I would eventually be renovating beach houses at Ocean Isle for my job! Can we say DREAM FULL CIRCLE?!
I remember seeing this A Frame as a kid! What a treat that I got to help renovate and design it present day!

This project was so much fun! White paint can go a long way right?
Changing the exterior with new windows/doors, a new deck and metal roof made a world of difference! But when the white paint starting going on…..all the heart eyes!!!!
The inside really just needed new floors, new paint and minimal demo.
The major portion of the interior renovation was the kitchen/bathrooms and the 2nd level!
As you can see in the before and after pictures below, removing the wall in the kitchen and restructuring the layout made it feel so much more open and gave it a more open concept! The bathrooms simply got new vanities, lighting and paint!
We stained the ceilings in the living area giving them an entire new look! I call it a driftwood gray! See below
The first level bedrooms got a fresh new coat of white paint…check out the power of paint!!!!
The second level was SO dark and there was a wall that went down the entire center of the room, really closing it off! See below
By removing the wall, it opened up the room to a lot more options! We decided to use the room as a bunk/hanging bed room! SO COOL!
Since this property was going to be going on the rental market, we needed to utilize the space to pack as many sleeping options as possible! Each hanging bed is a queen size ( three total) and the middle of the room is big enough for games, yoga or whatever your heart desires! See Below!
There are also many nooks for desks/working areas! As much as we try to NOT work on vacation, it happens!!
The top, 3rd level, is such a magical space! There are two lounge bed/futons that can fold up into oversized chairs or be used as beds. With a TV and several small seating options, this space is perfect for Netflix and Chill! I call it the built in babysitter! :) Adding new chandeliers really added to the ambiance up there!
The exterior of the A Fame also got an upgraded deck that wraps around from the front, right and backside of the house! Underneath we put some awesome hanging chairs, for the perfect chill spot to relax, read a book, or listen to the waves that are steps away!
There is also a pretty sweet hot tub and oversized outdoor shower! All the things!!!
